Our extra-curricular highlights
First Nations Cultural Experiences
Merrylands Public School provides a range of opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to share and celebrate their culture. This includes participating in Reconciliation Day events, NAIDOC events and The Gimbawali combined schools dance mob.
Creative and performing arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in performances, art shows and drama activities.
Trips and excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
Sensory Gym
Students from our support classes and some of mainstream classes love to participate in the Sensory Gym program. It provides children with a fun and motivational environment to help them in the areas of strength, movement, sensory processing, communication, positive behaviour, social interactions, and self-care skills.
