School events bring learning to life and help shape our school culture. They help students build confidence, connect with others and celebrate their progress. Events also give families a chance to be involved in school life and share in their child’s achievements.
Our school event may include:
- school orientation days
- sports carnivals
- open day and school tours
- Harmony Week and Book Week events
- excursions and incursions
- performances, concerts or school productions
- fundraising, charity and community events
- award assemblies
- graduation and other celebrations.
- Community Connect on Friday morning between 9:00-11:00am.

Book Week
Book Week is a special time at our school where we celebrate a love of reading. Students take part in fun activities throughout the week. Each year, our Merrylands Public School staff love to present a special Book Week performance for our students.
Public Education Week Open Day
School open day is an opportunity for students, parents and carers to get to know our school. Our MPS families value the opportunity to visit classrooms and share in learning experiences.
Harmony Day
One of our favourite days in the school year is Harmony Day at MPS. It is a day filled with culture, food and community connection.
Our students and staff embrace this opportunity to celebrate the rich cultures at our school with over 40 language groups represented.
